Having a long-term relationship with a big ad agency is like dating a supermodel. You dream about it your whole life and when it finally happens you eventually want to kill yourself. So when we found out that Mark Zampella spent six years as the in-house sound designer for McCann Erikson New York, we were not surprised to find that his latest offering to the world of sonic merchandise was a collection of yoga meditation music. Breathe deep, Mark. One day the lambs will stop screaming. Before his agency job, Mark nabbed himself a 1992 Grammy nomination for his extensive work at Hip Pocket studios. There he worked with Sting, Peter Gabriel, and Roger Daltrey doing everything from laying down guitar tracks to mixing on an SSL. Today Mark owns and operates his own music library at www.zampellamusic.com and also does web design for clients such as the Advertising Educational Foundation and The New York Philharmonic. Mark’s combined years in commercial music give his BBM loops an element of succinctness that is much appreciated by Flash designers looking to bitch slap their audience.
